Give me back my innocence, cause I wish to dream again...

Poets of the Fall is one of those rare bands with really meaningful lyrics. It was obvious from long ago that rock lyrics should be considered poetry, but yet most bands still sang about personal wings. There's something my professor used to repeat constantly to us: "Any art that is universal is good." And she was right. If a story is good, it doesn't necessarily have to be universal. Yet, if the story is something that most people can identify with, if they talk about feelings we'll all once experience, it just must be good. If you know any example that says the opposite, please post it, but I didn't find one up until now.
I think it's obvious what I like about POTF: universality. I think any artist, or even artistic person, can find himself in this song. And doesn't every human mourn over his youth one way or another? Some may want their beauty or cheerfulness back, while some want their innocence and creativity, but we still all continue to fight the eternal enemy: time. No matter what happens time will never disappear. Even in billions of years when humans might not exist and when the whole universe changes fundamentally time will still continue to flow endlessly. We always fight what we can win against. Duh.
